In order to be able to utilize the company's resources in an efficient manner and meet customers' needs, it can be appropriate to divide the work into shifts, with different work teams replacing each other. The collective agreements give great freedom for the employer to agree with the employee organizations on how the work should be carried out in shifts, but also contain rules that come into force if no such agreement is reached.
