The employer pays sick pay during the first 14 days of a sick period. A qualifying deduction is made from the sick pay, which corresponds to 20 per cent of the average sick pay per week. From day 15 and onwards during the sick period, no statutory sick pay is paid. For salaried employees, the employer pays collectively agreed sick pay even after day 15.
