Participation, safety representative and safety committee

The employer has the main responsibility for the work environment. But the employer and the employees should work together to create a good work environment. This is laid down in the Work Environment Act. At workplaces with at least five employees or where it is otherwise deemed necessary, a safety representative (Sw. skyddsombud) should be elected by the employees or the employees’ organisation.
